Windsurfing on Koh Lanta

The best place for windsurfing is on Koh Lanta is Klong Dao beach as it has shallow water and no rocks and also no current.  It is a perfect location to learn to windsurf and it also offers fun for the advanced windsurfer.  The winds are unpredictable during the high tourism season (October through April) and become more stable and much stronger during the monsoon season (May through September).  During the main tourist season from October until May, the wind conditions can vary from strong offshore winds to sideshore and also onshore winds.  If you are lucky during your stay on Koh Lanta, the winds will be favorable and you can have a great windsurfing experience.

Windsurfing Lessons

Koh Lanta is a great place to learn to windsurf or take a refresher course if it has been a while since you last windsurfed.  The beach is very safe and the wind conditions are generally not too extreme for beginning windsurfers.  We put safety first at Lanta Paddlesports and evaluate wind conditions and wind forecasts before we put you in the water.  We offer lessons by the hour and also a complete three hour course which covers all aspects of beginning windsurfing. Our equipment is in top condition and we have sails small enough for children as young as 10 years old to learn windsurfing.  Come visit us at the beach on Klong Dao and get out on the water and have some fun!!!
